Description
A stone box with a lid, probably made of soapstone. The image of clouds, banana leaves, and a woman (possibly an apsara or celestial maiden) scattering flowers from a basket is carved in low relief on the lid. The sides of the box have an incised floral pattern. It is likely that this piece was created in China.
