A grouping of about 70 people, mostly children but also a few adults, pose for a portrait on some rocks. Some hold umbrellas (both paper and cloth) or wear sedge hats. The children are poorly clothed but very active. Mountains are in the background. The handwritten caption below reads, "Fishing villiage near Uwajima 1900."
