Composite of professional photographs of babies' faces. The handwritten caption reads "These are the actual photographs of 1700 Japanese babies, taken during 10 years by a Tokyo photographer. There are two foreign babies in the group." The studio's original tag, in both English and Japanese, is attached to the left border. It is dated September 13, Meiji 26 (1893).
