Description

This print shows the Lotus Pond, part of Shinobazu Pond in Ueno Park in Tokyo. The park was established in 1873, on lands previously belonging to the Kan'ei-ji Temple. The photographer has labelled the print, "66 Shinobazu (Pond) Tokio." Turner has added the inscription, "A lotus bed; common in Japan."
