Description

Two women posed as sleeping in the same bed. They are sleeping on one futon mat underneath a padded kimono. Around them are furnishings suggestive of domesticity: a folding screen draped with clothing, a chest of drawers, lamp, etc. Turner has added the inscription, "A Japanese lady's bedroom."
